A sustainable Printed circuit board manufacturing is clearly a part of active environmental work. PCB production in Sweden is regulated and followed up in several areas – how chemicals are used and to waste water and water consumption. PCB manufacturing in Chinas are also under environmental restrictions and regulations. Today sustainability are much more than environmental impact only. MMAB are working with responsible suppliers which understands that sustainability is more than a policy document.
The suppliers need fair conditions for manufacturing and supply of PCBs for a long term business. Our open communication with our customers are also applied in our supplier relations. Our office in China are working closely with our suppliers and our communication with the manufacturers in China are built on trust. Reasonable business conditions, long term relations and open communication provides sustainability.
MMAB are using tin and gold in our processes and on the PCB final finishes. Tin and gold are considered conflict minerals which must be traced back to the origin. This mapping of some metals will identify high risc areas with conflicts in mining and refining. MMAB have identified the metal sources and are using the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) from the Responsible Minerals Inititative.
